The ultimate speed test
Vodafone set its new SuperMobile plan against Britain’s fastest woman, Dina Asher-Smith, to see whether the service could download her 150-track training playlist before she finished a 200m sprint. SuperMobile completed the task in 21.2 seconds, narrowly beating her British record of 21.88 seconds. The playlist equals roughly nine hours of music.
Dina Asher-Smith said: “As a sprinter, every second counts, so I was genuinely impressed that SuperMobile managed to beat me! Speed is obviously a huge part of my life, both on and off the track, and music plays a big role in my training and getting me ready to run fast. Whether I’m downloading a playlist or sharing training videos on the go, I want my mobile plan to keep up.”
What the plan actually delivers
SuperMobile runs on 5G+ FastTrack and claims speeds up to four times faster than Vodafone’s standard plans in busy areas, plus a minimum guaranteed download speed. If the guarantee is not met, customers can leave the airtime plan without an early termination charge once Vodafone has had 30 days to fix the issue. The service also includes network prioritisation for up to 600 GB of data and advanced security features.
A Vodafone spokesperson says: “Powered by our new 5G+ FastTrack, on the UK’s fastest 5G+ network, Vodafone SuperMobile gives customers speeds up to four times faster than standard plans, along with guaranteed minimum speeds. It’s all about helping customers spend less time waiting and more time doing, particularly when network demand is high.”
How it fits with recent moves
Vodafone first paired SuperMobile with the iPhone 18 Pro range last month. Rival EE has since launched its own dedicated 5G+ capacity for iPhone 18 Pro users. We cover the full range of mobile plans at Mobile phones so you can compare the small-print guarantees and exit terms side by side.
