Double award haul
BT and EE have scooped a rare double win after two big independent studies ranked their networks the best in the UK for broadband and mobile at the same time. Ookla's nationwide test of over 104 million data points gave BT's Full Fibre network the top overall connectivity score, fastest peak download speeds and best gaming experience. RootMetrics® separately crowned EE the UK's best mobile network for a record 13th year, with the strongest 5G speeds and performance across cities, roads and rural spots.
What the results mean
Greg McCall, Chief Security and Networks Officer at BT, said: “These landmark studies are powerful proof that our investment in improving the UK’s connectivity continues to deliver where it matters most – for families, businesses, and emergency services across the nation.”
The wins come on the back of BT's £40 billion UK investment this decade, which is expanding Full Fibre and EE's 5G+ coverage. EE has already added 5G+ to another six million people since January and upgraded thousands of sites. This builds on EE's recent Fast Lane rollout on 5G+, which gives priority access when networks get busy.

Both BT and EE customers get the improved performance, but the studies show real-world gains are clearest for streaming, gaming and video calls.
