How to get a Lebara PAC code
If you want to leave Lebara and keep your mobile number, you need a Lebara PAC code. A PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) lets your new network take over your existing number.
From the phone that uses your Lebara SIM, send a text message containing the word PAC to 65075. Lebara replies by text with your code. The reply usually arrives within a minute, though it can take up to two working days.
Your Lebara PAC code is valid for 30 days from the date it is issued. Give the code to your new provider when you order a replacement SIM or plan. They use it to start the port on your chosen switch date.
Important: the PAC is issued by Lebara, not by comparison sites or third-party tools. Our PAC & STAC code generator shows the exact text and number to use, but the code itself always comes back from Lebara in an SMS.
How to cancel Lebara
Cancel Lebara by ending your service on the network. For most people that means one of two routes:
Keep your number: request a PAC, choose a new provider, and give them the code when you sign up. Your Lebara service ends automatically once the port completes.
Do not need your number: text STAC to 75075 from your Lebara phone. Lebara sends a STAC (Service Termination Authorisation Code) and your number is released. You can then stop using the SIM.
Lebara sells rolling 30-day plans and pay-as-you-go bundles rather than long handset contracts. That means there is often no minimum term to serve — but check your account before you leave, especially if you are on a 12-month plan or have an active auto-renewal.
You can review your plan and billing through the Lebara website or app. For written confirmation of your leave date, use our cancellation letter generator to draft a formal notice.
Step-by-step: leave Lebara and keep your number
- Check your account. Log in to Lebara and note any outstanding balance, active bundle, or contract end date. Pay anything owed so the port is not blocked.
- Request your PAC. Text PAC to 65075 from your Lebara SIM.
- Compare replacement deals. Look at SIM only deals from other networks before your PAC expires. Lebara runs on the Vodafone network, so if coverage was fine you may want a Vodafone-based alternative — or a different network entirely.
- Order your new SIM. Sign up with the new provider and enter your Lebara PAC code during checkout.
- Pick a switch date. Your new network arranges the port. On that day your Lebara SIM stops working and your number moves across.
- Destroy the old SIM. Once the port is confirmed, the Lebara SIM is deactivated.
The whole switch typically completes within one working day once your new provider has the PAC, though the exact timing depends on when you submit the request.
If you do not need your number
Text STAC to 75075 from your Lebara phone. Lebara replies with a STAC that confirms your number will be cancelled rather than ported.
Use a STAC when:
- You are moving abroad and do not need a UK number
- You want a completely fresh number with a new provider
- You are closing a secondary line
Once the STAC is processed, that number cannot be recovered. If there is any chance you will want it back, request a PAC instead and port to a cheap rolling plan while you decide.
Contracts, notice periods and fees
Lebara's pay-as-you-go service has no contract to cancel — you simply stop topping up or using the SIM.
Rolling 30-day plans renew automatically each month. To cancel, turn off auto-renewal in your Lebara account before requesting a PAC or STAC, or confirm with Lebara that no further payment will be taken after you port out.
If you are on a 12-month Lebara plan, you may need to serve the remainder of the minimum term or pay an early exit fee. Check your plan terms in your account dashboard or on your original order confirmation.
Because Lebara is an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) on the Vodafone network, PAC and STAC requests are handled through Lebara's systems using the standard Ofcom short codes — you do not contact Vodafone directly to cancel a Lebara line.
Before you switch away from Lebara
Work through this checklist to avoid delays:
- Pay any outstanding balance on your Lebara account
- Turn off auto-renewal if you are on a rolling monthly bundle
- Save your contacts — while most data is cloud-backed, export anything stored on the SIM itself
- Note your account login details in case you need to access billing after the switch
- Request your PAC early — you can hold the code for 30 days while you compare deals
- Do not cancel the Lebara SIM manually before the port completes, or you risk losing your number mid-switch
If you need a paper trail for a complaint or account query, generate a cancellation letter with our cancellation letter generator.
Choosing a replacement SIM only deal
Most people leaving Lebara want a new SIM only plan rather than a handset contract. Lebara is popular for international calls and flexible 30-day bundles, so think about what mattered on your old plan — data allowance, UK minutes, overseas calling — and find an equivalent elsewhere.
Good places to start comparing:
- Cheapest SIM only deals across all networks
- 30-day SIM only deals if you want the same flexibility Lebara offers
- giffgaff SIM only deals — community-led MVNO with rolling plans
- Lycamobile SIM only deals — another international-focused MVNO
- Smarty SIM only deals — low-cost rolling plans on the Three network
- iD Mobile SIM only deals — budget plans from Carphone Warehouse's network
- Tesco Mobile SIM only deals — Clubcard discounts on O2's network
- Cheapest O2 SIM only deals
- Cheapest Three SIM only deals
- Cheapest Vodafone SIM only deals
Order your new SIM before your PAC expires. Most providers let you submit the PAC at sign-up and choose a switch date a few days ahead, so you are not left without service.

Problems getting a Lebara PAC code
No reply after texting 65075. Make sure you are sending from the Lebara SIM itself, not a different phone. Check you have signal and that the message contains only the word PAC with no extra characters. Wait up to two working days before chasing.
PAC request rejected. This usually means an outstanding balance, a bar on the account, or a pending port request. Log in to your Lebara account, clear any unpaid amount, and try again.
PAC expired. Codes last 30 days. Text PAC to 65075 again to get a fresh one — requesting a new code does not cancel an in-progress port.
Port delayed or failed. Confirm you gave the correct PAC to your new provider and that your Lebara account has no blocks. Contact your new network first — they manage the port process once they have the code.
Still being charged after leaving. If auto-renewal was active, cancel it in your Lebara account. If you ported out successfully, billing should stop on the switch date. Keep your port confirmation text and contact Lebara with it if charges continue.
Quick reference
| Goal | Text to send | Number |
|---|---|---|
| Keep your number (PAC) | PAC | 65075 |
| Cancel your number (STAC) | STAC | 75075 |
Both texts must be sent from the Lebara SIM you want to leave. Standard network text charges may apply.
