Hannah Blackwood holding a Google Pixel Pro

In short: The Pixel 11 Pro launched on 20 August 2026 at £1,079 for 256GB, sitting between the standard Pixel 11 and the larger Pixel 11 Pro XL. It is the compact way to get Google's best cameras: a 6.3in body with the same 50MP main, 48MP ultrawide and 48MP 5x periscope telephoto as the Pro XL, plus a much sharper 3,600-nit LTPO display and the new HiLight notification LED. The trade-offs are real, though — it keeps 30W charging while the Pro XL jumps to 45W, its 4,850mAh battery is the smallest of the three flat Pixels, and the base model now has 12GB of RAM rather than the 16GB Google shipped last year.

Live UK Pixel 11 Pro deals are listed on this page. Below is what the Pro adds over the standard Pixel 11, where it loses out to the Pro XL, and whether the £200 step up is money well spent.

1. When did the Pixel 11 Pro come out?

The Pixel 11 Pro was announced on 12 August 2026 and went on sale in the UK on 20 August 2026, launching alongside the standard Pixel 11, the Pixel 11 Pro XL and the foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold. For Google's wider launch history, see our main Pixel 11 guide.

2. How much does the Pixel 11 Pro cost?

The Pixel 11 Pro starts at £1,079 SIM-free — £80 more than the Pixel 10 Pro's £999 launch price. Note that the 12GB RAM configuration is tied to the 256GB model — if you want 16GB, you have to buy more storage as well.

ConfigurationUK RRP
256GB, 12GB RAM£1,079
512GB, 16GB RAM£1,199
1TB, 16GB RAM£1,429

For context in the wider range:

ModelStarting UK RRP
Pixel 11£879
Pixel 11 Pro£1,079
Pixel 11 Pro XL£1,279

As with any flagship, pay-monthly and SIM-free deals undercut Google's own pricing, and the offers on this page reflect what UK networks are charging now rather than the RRP.

4. Pixel 11 Pro vs Pixel 11: is the step-up worth it?

This is the real question for most people on this page, because the Pro and the standard Pixel 11 share a 6.3in screen size, the same Tensor G6 chip and identical software. What the extra £200 buys is cameras, screen and connectivity.

  • A far better camera system. The Pro's 50MP main sensor, 48MP ultrawide and 48MP 5x periscope telephoto are all meaningfully larger and sharper than the standard Pixel 11's 48MP/13MP/10.8MP set. The gap is widest at zoom and in low light: the Pro's telephoto sensor is several times the size of the standard model's, which is what makes its 5x shots and 120x Super Zoom usable rather than merely present. It also gets Instant Night Sight, which captures night shots roughly twice as fast — the difference between a blurry photo and a keeper.
  • A sharper, brighter display. The Pro uses a 1280 x 2856 LTPO panel that peaks at 3,600 nits and drops to 1Hz for the always-on display. The standard model's 1080 x 2424 screen tops out at 3,000 nits and only goes down to 60Hz.
  • A much better selfie camera — 42MP versus 10.5MP.
  • HiLight, Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-wideband. The Wi-Fi and UWB upgrades are genuinely useful. HiLight, the LED ring in the camera flash, is not: it only works face down and only responds to Gemini and calls from favourite contacts. PCMag called it "half-baked" and Ars Technica filed it under "the ugly".
  • A 16GB RAM option, if you pay for 512GB or more of storage.

Video4K/604K/60, 8K via Video Boost
UK RRP£879£1,079

The honest read: if photography is a real hobby, the Pro is the one to buy — the camera gap between the two is wider this year than it has been for several generations. If you mostly shoot in decent light and post to social media, the standard Pixel 11 already includes a 5x optical zoom and saves you £200.

5. Pixel 11 Pro vs Pixel 11 Pro XL

The Pro and Pro XL run the same chip and exactly the same camera system, so this is a size decision — with two caveats that matter more than they used to.

FeaturePixel 11 ProPixel 11 Pro XL
Screen6.3in LTPO6.8in LTPO
Battery4,850mAh5,115mAh
Charging30W wired45W wired
WeightAround 204gAround 226g
CamerasIdenticalIdentical
UK RRP£1,079£1,279

The caveats: the Pro XL is the only 2026 Pixel to get the charging upgrade — the Pro is still on 30W, the same as the standard Pixel 11 — and the Pro's 4,850mAh battery is the smallest of the three flat models. In PCMag's battery rundown the Pro lasted 13 hours against 15 hours 47 minutes for the Pro XL — a substantial gap for two phones with the same processor.

So: choose the Pro if you want flagship cameras in a phone you can comfortably use one-handed, and accept that you're giving up meaningful battery life and charging speed to get there. If neither matters more than screen size, the Pro XL is the better all-rounder.

6. Pixel 11 Pro vs Pixel 10 Pro: should you upgrade?

Launch price£999£1,079

This is a refinement year, and in a couple of places a step backwards. The chip, modem, camera sensors and display brightness are all improved, and base storage doubles. But the base RAM drops from 16GB to 12GB, the battery shrinks slightly, the temperature sensor is gone, and the price is up £80. PCMag scored the range 4.0 out of 5 and summed up the value proposition as taking "a hit" — while still rating the cameras and display among the best available.

If you own a Pixel 10 Pro, there is very little reason to upgrade. From a Pixel 9 Pro or older, the improvements stack up much more convincingly.

7. Pixel 11 Pro deals: what to look for

The deals on this page update automatically. When comparing them:

  • Work out the total cost of the contract, not just the monthly figure — long 36- and 48-month terms with low monthly payments often total more than a shorter deal.
  • Trade-in values peaked at launch. EE, Vodafone and giffgaff all ran headline trade-in savings in the pre-order window; those offers tend to shrink after the first few weeks.
  • Watch which configuration you're being quoted. The 256GB Pro has 12GB of RAM; only 512GB and 1TB models get 16GB, and some network listings aren't explicit about it.
  • Consider SIM-free plus a SIM-only plan if you can cover the handset cost upfront — it's frequently the cheapest route on a phone at this price.

8. Google Pixel 11 Pro FAQs

When did the Pixel 11 Pro come out?
It was announced on 12 August 2026 and went on sale in the UK on 20 August 2026.

How much does the Pixel 11 Pro cost?
£1,079 for 256GB with 12GB of RAM, £1,199 for 512GB with 16GB, and £1,429 for 1TB with 16GB.

What's the difference between the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro?
The Pro has a much stronger camera system (50MP main, 48MP ultrawide and 48MP 5x periscope versus 48MP/13MP/10.8MP), a sharper 3,600-nit LTPO display, a 42MP selfie camera, Wi-Fi 7, ultra-wideband, the HiLight LED and an optional 16GB of RAM — for £200 more.

Does the Pixel 11 Pro charge faster than the Pixel 11?
No. Both are limited to 30W wired and 25W wireless. Only the Pixel 11 Pro XL gained 45W wired charging this year.

Pixel 11 Pro or Pixel 11 Pro XL?
They have identical cameras and chips. The Pro is smaller and lighter; the Pro XL has a 6.8in screen, a bigger battery, noticeably longer real-world life and much faster charging. Pick on size and stamina, not capability.

How long will the Pixel 11 Pro get updates?
Seven years of Android versions and security patches, plus quarterly Pixel Drop feature updates.

Is the Pixel 11 Pro good for gaming?
It's fine for casual games, but the Tensor G6 carries over the previous generation's GPU and trails Snapdragon flagships significantly in graphics benchmarks. If gaming is a priority, look at Samsung's range instead.

For the full range overview, Tensor G6 details and the Pixel 11 versus Pixel 10 comparison, see our main Pixel 11 guide.
