How to get an ASDA Mobile PAC code
If you want to leave ASDA Mobile but keep your phone number, you need an ASDA Mobile PAC code. PAC stands for Porting Authorisation Code. It lets your new network take over your existing number when you switch.
From the ASDA Mobile phone you want to leave, text PAC to 65075. This is the standard UK short code for PAC requests and works the same way across mobile networks.
ASDA Mobile should reply by text with your PAC code. The code is usually nine characters long and is valid for 30 days. Give it to your new provider when you order a SIM or sign up for a new deal. They use it to start the port and cancel your ASDA Mobile service automatically once the switch completes.
You can also use our PAC & STAC code generator if you want the exact text message and short code written out before you send it.
Important: ASDA Mobile issues the PAC code, not your new network and not a comparison site. If you do not receive a reply within a few hours, check you sent the text from the ASDA Mobile SIM itself, then try again or visit ASDA Mobile help for account support.
How to cancel ASDA Mobile
To cancel ASDA Mobile, you do not usually need to phone customer services or visit a store. For most customers, cancellation happens when you port your number away or request a STAC code to end the line.
The two main routes are:
- Keep your number — text PAC to 65075, then give the code to your new network.
- Give up your number — text STAC to 75075 if you do not need to keep the same mobile number.
Once your PAC or STAC request is processed and the switch or disconnection date passes, your ASDA Mobile plan stops. You should not need a separate cancellation call unless you have an unusual account setup or a device plan still running.
Before you leave, sign in to your ASDA Mobile account online and check:
- your contract end date, if you are on a 12-month or 24-month plan
- whether any auto-renewal or top-up settings are still active
- any outstanding balance on the account
If you prefer written confirmation, you can also draft a formal notice using our cancellation letter generator.
How to cancel your ASDA Mobile contract
How to cancel your ASDA Mobile contract depends on whether you are on a rolling monthly plan or a fixed-term SIM only deal.
ASDA Mobile sells SIM only plans on 12-month and 24-month contracts, as well as shorter rolling options. If you are still inside a minimum term, leaving early may mean paying for the remaining months or any charges shown in your online account. ASDA Mobile runs on the Vodafone network, but contract terms are set by ASDA Mobile itself, so check your plan details before you request a PAC.
To cancel a contract and keep your number:
- Text PAC to 65075 from your ASDA Mobile phone.
- Choose a new SIM only deal from another provider.
- Give your PAC code to the new network when prompted.
- Wait for the port to complete. ASDA Mobile should confirm your leave date by text.
If your contract has already ended, you can still use the same PAC process. There is no need to wait for ASDA Mobile to contact you first.
Customers switching from other Vodafone-based MVNOs often follow the same steps. If you are comparing the process, see our guides for cancel Talkmobile and cancel Vodafone.
Using a STAC code if you do not want to keep your number
A STAC — Service Termination Authorisation Code — cancels your ASDA Mobile service without moving the number to a new provider.
Text STAC to 75075 from your ASDA Mobile handset. ASDA Mobile will reply with a code and a scheduled disconnection date. Like a PAC, a STAC is valid for 30 days.
Use a STAC if:
- you are moving abroad and do not need a UK mobile number
- you want a completely new number on your next SIM
- you are closing a spare or temporary line
If you might switch to another UK network later, a PAC is usually the better option because it keeps your number and handles cancellation in one step.
Notice period, contract end dates and exit charges
ASDA Mobile plans commonly come with a 30-day notice period, though fixed-term contracts may also have early exit terms if you leave before the end date.
Check your account for:
- the date your minimum term ends
- any early termination or remaining-balance charges
- whether your final bill will include part-month usage after the port
On rolling plans, you can usually leave at short notice once any current billing period is accounted for. On 12-month or 24-month deals, leaving early is more likely to trigger a charge for the months left on the contract.
ASDA Mobile does not publish one flat cancellation fee for every plan type, so treat the figure shown in your online account as the source of truth. If you are unsure, request your PAC first so you know the leave date, then confirm costs in your account before giving the code to a new network.
How to switch from ASDA Mobile to another network
Switching is straightforward once you have your ASDA Mobile PAC code.
- Compare deals first. Look at SIM only deals from providers other than ASDA Mobile so you know what allowance and price you want.
- Order the new SIM. Buy online from your chosen network and enter your PAC during checkout or activation.
- Keep both SIMs working. Your ASDA Mobile SIM stays active until the port completes.
- Insert the new SIM on switch day. Your new provider will tell you when the number moves across. This often takes one working day but can take a little longer.
- Check your final ASDA Mobile bill. Make sure any closing charges look correct.
Because ASDA Mobile uses the Vodafone network, some customers stay on Vodafone coverage by moving to Vodafone SIM only deals. Others prefer a different network entirely, such as O2, Three, EE, giffgaff, Smarty, Tesco Mobile or Lebara.

Who to switch to after leaving ASDA Mobile
The right replacement depends on coverage where you live, how much data you use, and whether you want a rolling or fixed contract.
If you liked Vodafone coverage but want a different brand
- Vodafone SIM only deals — direct network plans with broader plan ranges
- Talkmobile SIM only deals — another Vodafone-based option, often at lower prices
If you want flexible rolling plans
If you want the lowest monthly cost
If you want a main-network contract

What happens after you port your number away
Once the port completes:
- your phone number moves to the new network
- your ASDA Mobile SIM stops working for calls, texts and data
- ASDA Mobile should send confirmation that the service has ended
- you may receive a final bill or closing statement
If anything still looks active in your ASDA Mobile account after the switch date, contact ASDA Mobile through mobile.asda.com/help with your PAC confirmation and port date.
If the port fails, your number stays on ASDA Mobile and your PAC remains valid until it expires. You can then correct the details with your new provider and try again without requesting a fresh code immediately.
Leaving ASDA Mobile is usually a quick text message away. Request your PAC, compare SIM only deals from other networks, and hand the code to your new provider when you are ready to move.
