Fresh modules target the threats SMBs actually face
We’ve seen Kaspersky expand its Next Optimum platform with five new Security Modules aimed squarely at small and medium-sized businesses. The additions cover Security Awareness, Email Security, Workload Security, Threat Lookup & Analysis and Vulnerability Management. They sit alongside the existing endpoint, EDR and XDR tools so firms can add protection where it’s needed most without replacing their current stack.
A Kaspersky survey found phishing and software exploits remain the top external incidents for these organisations. At the same time, compatibility headaches and the desire to consolidate tools are the main reasons companies switch vendors.
Simulated phishing and credential checks now included
The update also brings simulated phishing campaigns down from the higher-tier XDR and MXDR versions into the more accessible EDR Foundations tier. Admins can run realistic tests, track results and spot training gaps. On the managed side, Kaspersky Next MXDR Optimum now correlates leaked credentials with alerts to flag account risks earlier.
Management has been tweaked too, with a mobile-friendly Pro View Console that lets teams start simple and move to the more detailed Expert View later.

Kaspersky Next Optimum is positioned as a flexible route for firms that want to grow their defences gradually. The modules are designed to slot in around existing technology rather than force a full overhaul.
