The New Prices
E.ON Next has lowered two 24-month tariffs that lock in rates until autumn 2028. The Next Fixed 24m v72 now costs £1,689 a year for a typical dual-fuel household, down from £1,695. The Next Smart Saver 24m v7 sits at £1,662, reduced from £1,725. Both carry a £100 exit fee per fuel and are available across all regions for customers with standard meters.
Savings Against the Cap
These deals undercut the energy price cap of £1,723 that runs from 1 October to 31 December 2026. Next Smart Saver delivers a £61 annual saving and Next Fixed 24m a £34 saving for average use of 2,500 kWh electricity and 9,500 kWh gas. The supplier says they are the cheapest 24-month options from a major provider at the time of launch.
How the Tariffs Work
Next Smart Saver rewards shifting electricity use to off-peak and super off-peak periods, suiting households with EVs, heat pumps or batteries, or anyone who can run appliances like washing machines outside peak hours. Next Fixed 24m offers straightforward price protection without time-of-use requirements.

Steve Davies, Director of Strategy and Commercial at E.ON Next, said: "As we head towards winter, we know that many households are looking for greater certainty over their energy costs. By reducing the price of our 24-month tariffs, we’re giving customers the option to secure their unit rates until autumn 2028 on two of the cheapest 24-month tariffs currently available from a major supplier. Next Smart Saver also gives households the flexibility to access cheaper electricity outside peak hours by shifting when they use energy."
