Shorter contracts that match term time
Vodafone has launched 12-month 5G Broadband plans aimed at students, removing the need for 18- or 24-month commitments that often outlast the academic year. The move comes with a £2 monthly student discount on top of the standard pricing.
Pricing that splits easily across housemates
The 50 Mbps plan starts at £20 a month after the discount, while the 150 Mbps option begins at £21. In a four-person household that works out at £5.25 each for unlimited data. Vodafone says the faster plan can handle up to six simultaneous 4K streams, quick downloads of large lecture files and multiple video calls at once.
No engineer visit or landlord permission is required, and the hub arrives next day or can be collected same day from a store.
Research highlights first-time budgeting stress
Vodafone’s survey of 2,000 students found 54% felt unprepared for the practical side of shared housing and 26% had phoned parents for help setting up broadband. Almost half said they split the bill with housemates.
