Pro 4 Broadband hits real homes
Vodafone is trialling Pro 4 Broadband on the CityFibre network, with customers already seeing 8Gbps download speeds and uploads up to 6.5Gbps. The service launches later this year on the Ultra Hub 7+ tri-band WiFi 7 router and includes Super WiFi 7+ boosters, 4G back-up and Smart Modes. A joint test with CityFibre has also reached 10Gbps over 50GPON.
5G Broadband Essentials from £11
Vodafone will add 5G Broadband Essentials, the UK’s only 5G social tariff, from £11 a month with no upfront cost for customers on benefits or in financial difficulty. The move builds on the existing 5G Broadband service that already reaches more than 28 million homes when combined with full fibre. Students can already access a 12-month 5G plan with a £2 monthly discount, bringing typical houseshare costs down to around £5 per person.
Unified parental controls
Secure Net now lets parents manage network-level controls for both broadband and mobile through one app, covering malware protection, scam-call blocking and 24/7 ID monitoring.
