What FleetBoost actually delivers

Octopus Fleet has launched FleetBoost, letting businesses sign up for discounted public EV charging through its platform. The scheme already covers three big networks โ€” MFG EV Power, IONITY and Be.EV โ€” and promises 99% of UK areas sit within 14 miles of an eligible charger. Savings reach up to 30% on those networks, netting a maximum ยฃ730 per vehicle each year after the monthly fee, based on 15,000 miles at 0.3 kWh per mile.

The small print on the numbers

Those figures assume typical fleet mileage and efficiency; actual results will vary with driving patterns and the final subscription cost. Drivers still need to locate chargers via the app, though the 95% figure within nine miles suggests most routes should have options nearby. The service sits alongside Octopus Electroverse, which already gives access to over 1.5 million chargers worldwide.

How it connects to wider EV uptake

Matt Davies, Founder of Octopus Fleet, said: โ€œWe know that switching a fleet to electric is about much more than putting an EV on the road โ€“ businesses need charging to be affordable, reliable and easy for drivers to use, and weโ€™re tackling this all in one go. By bringing together some of the UK's biggest charging brands, we can help accelerate the transition to commercial EVs and slash the cost of public charging for businesses.โ€

This move lines up with rising interest in second-hand EVs from Octopus. For households or smaller operators, home charging on a smart tariff remains cheaper in most cases โ€” check our energy comparison tools to see current options.
