Vodafone Business carves out a dedicated 5G slice for UK firms

The new National Business Slice promises up to 4x faster speeds and a 15 Mbps minimum for enterprise users on the merged network.

3 September 2026 · Daniel Hartley · Vodafone

A slice just for business traffic

Vodafone Business has launched SuperMobile for Business, built around the UK’s first national business-only 5G+ network slice. The National Business Slice reserves dedicated capacity on the combined VodafoneThree network, keeping enterprise traffic separate from consumer demand. Eligible firms can expect up to 4x faster speeds than standard plans and a committed minimum download speed of 15 Mbps, provided they use compatible 5G+ devices and stay within coverage.

Who gets what

Small businesses with one to nine employees can add the consumer version of SuperMobile for an extra £3 a month. Larger organisations move onto the full National Business Slice with prioritised uplink and downlink. A separate National Critical Slice for blue-light and critical national infrastructure services is due next year. Vodafone is also expanding its Device-as-a-Service bundles so firms can lease handsets and access the slice under one agreement.

Real-world use cases

Several large users are already trialling the service, including British Airways, Cadent Gas, Centrica, Manchester Airports Group, Loganair, TATA Steel and UK Power Networks. Nick Gliddon, Business Director, VodafoneThree, said: “Business mobile has traditionally offered the same connectivity experience as consumers, despite organisations increasingly relying on mobile for critical work, customer service and frontline operations. With Vodafone SuperMobile for Business, we’re changing that. We’re giving businesses performance built around how they work, on a National Business Slice that delivers dedicated capacity, assured performance and committed performance targets. Alongside our National Critical Slice for CNI and blue light organisations, it shows how 5G Standalone can deliver a new standard of priority, resilience and business-critical connectivity across the UK, supporting our ambition to make Vodafone the nation’s network for business.”

How it fits the wider picture

The business launch follows the consumer SuperMobile rollout on the same day. We covered that earlier. Customers need 5G+ handsets and must check coverage and terms before signing up. You can compare the latest mobile deals on our site at Mobile phones.
