Why comfort TV is topping the charts
Netflix says viewers are turning to warm, small-town stories for a sense of connection. Shows such as My Life With the Walter Boys, Ransom Canyon and the new Little House on the Prairie have all hit number one on the global Top 10 in recent weeks. The streamer points to more than 1 billion views across its comfort slate from 2023 to June 2026, with over 150 million views added in the first half of this year alone.
What the numbers actually show
My Life With the Walter Boys has now clocked 18 weeks on the Global Top 10 across its three seasons and more than 150 million views since 2023. Ransom Canyon reached the Top 10 in 77 countries, while Little House on the Prairie hit number one in 20 of the 85 countries where it charted. These figures come straight from Netflix’s own viewing data and the weekly Top 10 lists.
New arrivals to watch for
Two fresh titles join the line-up soon. Crew Girl lands on 10 September, following a teenage rowing prodigy at an East Coast prep school. Guarding Stars, a holiday romance starring Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki, premieres worldwide on 18 November. More seasons of Virgin River and Little House on the Prairie are also confirmed.
