Netflix Teases New Art Crime Series
We’ve just watched the official trailer for ChiaroScuro, Netflix’s new eight-episode light crime series set in the art world. Pierpaolo Spollon plays Cosmo Speranza, an expert who spots genuine works from tiny details, while Andrea Lattanzi is Inspector Angelo Tiberi. They’re forced to team up with Rome’s Mobile Squad. Matilde Gioli, Romana Maggiora Vergano and Aurora Giovinazzo also star, with Paz Vega and Alessandro Preziosi in special appearances. Produced by Lux Vide, the show mixes buddy comedy with investigations where crime scenes can be as fake as the paintings involved.
Plot Twists Between Past and Present
Cosmo’s skills prove useful when the pair uncover cases built on lies. The story turns personal once a painting of his childhood home turns up at a scene, reopening questions around his father’s suicide. The narrative moves between past and present, making it hard to separate truth from fiction. Written by Umberto Gnoli, Michela Straniero, Francesco Arlanch, Elena Bucaccio and Silvia Leuzzi, and directed by Jan Maria Michelini, it receives its world premiere out of competition at the Rome Film Festival.
Streaming Date and How to Watch
ChiaroScuro arrives only on Netflix on 11 November. UK subscribers can add it straight to their list once it drops. The trailer is already live if you want to see the tone and cast chemistry before deciding.
