What's included
Vodafone TV Essential brings Netflix Standard with Ads, HBO Max Standard with Ads, Freely and more than 150 extra live channels for £17 a month. The standalone box starts at £10. Both options run on a 24-month plan with built-in 4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos on supported content. Customers already on a Vodafone mobile or broadband plan can add the service directly or through Currys.
Switching support on offer
Anyone moving both broadband and TV to Vodafone can claim up to £300 in account credit to offset early-exit fees from their current provider. One Touch Switch handles the broadband side in a single step. New Pro Broadband customers signing up before 28 October 2026 receive Vodafone TV Essential free for the first 24 months of their contract.
Rival moves and who it suits
BT is launching its own merged TV and broadband service on 15 October, aimed at the same households tired of juggling apps. BT TV arrives next month to merge live TV, streaming and broadband Vodafone’s research found 40 % of people feel they pay for channels they rarely watch yet 35 % have stayed put for five years because of perceived hassle or exit fees. The £17 plan therefore lands well for existing Vodafone customers who want Netflix and HBO Max without separate log-ins, though the annual price rises (to £18.50 in April 2027 and £20 in April 2028) and 24-month tie-in are worth checking against your usage.
Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director, VodafoneThree said: “Households are dealing with a TV set‑up that’s become far too complicated – juggling multiple apps, long channel bundles and services they often don’t use. Our research shows that more than a third of people haven’t changed their TV provider in the last five years, with the perceived hassle of switching a big blocker and, as a result, they are still paying for features that should be standard. Vodafone TV gives customers a smarter alternative: one simple, intuitive experience that brings their favourite entertainment together and helps them cut out unnecessary costs. With Netflix and HBO Max included for £17 per month, it delivers exceptional value from day one.”
