A fresh take on an old favourite
Netflix is bringing a Mexican adaptation of The Good Wife to UK screens in two parts. Fernanda Castillo stars as Alicia, a lawyer who returns to work after two decades when her husband is jailed for corruption. The story mixes courtroom cases with family tensions, romance and questions about starting over.
We think the split release gives viewers time to digest the first half before the second arrives. Part 1 drops on 11 November and Part 2 follows on 9 December.
What the series covers
Alicia must juggle her teenage children, a rekindled past relationship and her own ambitions while facing public scrutiny. The eight episodes weave legal drama with personal stakes, and the cast includes Michel Brown, Karina Gidi and Juan Manuel Bernal.
Directors Ana Lorena Pérez Ríos and José Ramón Chávez Delgado helm the project, which was created by Robert and Michelle King. It is filmed in Mexico and carries the same mix of suspense and relationships that made the original US series popular.
How to watch
You can catch the trailer now on Netflix and decide if it suits your watchlist. The service already carries plenty of international drama, so this sits neatly alongside other non-English titles we cover on our TV hub.
If you already subscribe, the new series simply appears in your recommendations on the release dates. No extra cost or sign-up is needed beyond your existing plan. Check the app or site closer to November for any regional availability notes.
