Trailer Teases Power Struggle
Netflix has released the first trailer for Akka, an Indian gangster series set in the fictional kingdom of Pernuru. The story follows two powerful women whose rivalry threatens to upend a long-standing order built on loyalty and family. Produced by YRF Entertainment and directed by Dharmaraj Shetty, the show places women at the centre of the action as they fight to protect their reign.
We see tensions rise when an outsider challenges the legacy that has ruled for generations. Loyalties fracture and old wounds reopen, driving the plot through themes of power, revenge and shifting alliances.
Strong Cast Leads the Way
Keerthy Suresh plays Bhavani while Radhika Apte takes the role of Rudra. The ensemble also includes Tanvi Azmi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Anshuman Pushkar and Monica Panwar. Tanya Bami, Series Head, Netflix India said, "At Netflix, we’re always looking for stories that take audiences into distinctive worlds and introduce them to characters who stay with them. With Akka, audiences will enter the fictional world of Pernuru where women are not just part of the story, they are the power centre. Radhika Apte, Tanvi Azmi and Keerthy Suresh bring remarkable depth and nuance to their characters, making their strengths and contradictions feel deeply human. Akka is the creative vision of Aditya Chopra and our continued collaboration with Yash Raj Entertainment that reflects a shared ambition to bring distinctive Indian stories to audiences. We look forward to audiences exploring the conflict, the challenge, the many layers of Pernuru and the women who shape its destiny."
