A new Madrid-set crime story
Netflix has begun production on Jotadé, a four-episode limited series based on the first novel in Santiago Díaz’s series. The story follows an unconventional police officer who is brazen and irreverent yet sharp and loyal to his colleagues and Romani community. Assigned to a brutal crime that hides a dangerous network, he must tackle an impossible case while never having learned how to blend in.
Strong Spanish cast and crew
Isaac Díaz leads as Jotadé. Aura Garrido plays Lucía, Jose Coronado takes the role of Hilario Garza and Jaime Lorente appears as Tony Garza. The supporting cast includes María de Nati, Alberto Olmo, Melania Cruz, Carmen Avilés, Moreno Borja, Rafaela León, Antonio Zafra, Álvaro Rico and a special guest appearance by Javier Gutiérrez. Isa Sánchez and Daniel Corpas wrote the scripts, while Daniel Calparsoro directs.
MOD Producciones behind the project
MOD Producciones is producing the series, with Fernando Bovaira as producer and Guillem Vidal-Folch as executive producer. The company has a track record of Spanish films and series that combine cinematic quality with audience appeal.
