E.ON Next Offers Zero-Interest Loans for Heat Pumps and Solar

Eligible customers can now spread the cost of energy-saving tech with government-backed finance at 0% APR

29 October 2026 · Eleanor Whitfield · E.ON Next

Zero-interest finance now available

E.ON Next customers in England and Wales can apply for Warm Homes Loan Scheme finance through the supplier’s partnership with HomeServe Finance. The loans carry 0% APR on selected terms, letting homeowners and private landlords spread the cost of solar panels, batteries and heat pumps without paying interest. A representative example shows a £9,395 system repaid over five years at £156.58 a month with nothing extra to pay in interest.

How much households could save

A typical solar-plus-battery setup can cut annual bills by up to £1,213, according to standardised calculations using the current Ofgem price cap. Sales of these technologies have risen sharply this year, with heat pumps up 158%, solar 181% and batteries 320% compared with the same nine months in 2025. The loans remove the main barrier of upfront cost for many households.

Extra grants and support

Households installing a heat pump can also claim the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant of £7,500, rising to £9,000 for oil or LPG users until March 2027. E.ON Next handles the grant paperwork. Customers already struggling with bills can access the E.ON Next Energy Fund, flexible payment plans and the Priority Services Register.

Recent E.ON moves

The finance option arrives shortly after E.ON completed its takeover of OVO, bringing more households under the same parent group. Energy Secretary Miatta Fahnbulleh said: “Energy is an everyday essential that must be affordable for everyone. These government-supported loans will help families across the UK upgrade their homes with no upfront costs to make them warmer and cheaper to run.”

Julian Lennertz, Chief Commercial Officer at E.ON Next, said: “We want to help customers cut their bills by making their homes more energy efficient. As one of the first energy companies to offer access to low and zero-interest Government-supported loans, we’re helping them spread the upfront cost of those improvements.”

Mike Jackson, Chief Executive Officer at HomeServe Finance, said: “For many households, the upfront cost can stand in the way of making low-carbon home improvements. We’re excited to expand our partnership with E.ON Next to help its customers take that next step, with loans through the Warm Homes Loan Scheme, part-funded by the Government. By offering affordable, responsible finance, we’re helping customers spread the cost and invest in their homes with confidence.”
