Fresh Nordic Noir Arrives Soon
Netflix has released the trailer for Blood Sacrifice, a new Swedish crime thriller that premieres on 20 August. The five-part series follows lead investigator Thomas as he teams up with his estranged father to hunt a killer targeting police officers. Bodies pile up while attacks edge closer to home, forcing the pair to set aside decades of resentment.
Cast and Creative Team
Jakob Oftebro stars as Thomas alongside Peter Andersson as his father Alfred. Kristoffer Nyholm directs, with George Kay (Lupin, Hijack) creating and writing the drama. Production comes from B-Reel Films and Observatory Pictures.
What the Stars Say
Actor Jakob Oftebro: “Blood Sacrifice is an intense, emotional journey. Thomas is a man who has dedicated his life to the police, but when the attacks start targeting his own world, he’s forced to confront not only a brutal killer, but also the complicated relationship with his father. Playing him was both challenging and incredibly rewarding - it’s a story about justice, loyalty and what happens when the past refuses to stay buried.”
Actor Peter Andersson: “What drew me to Blood Sacrifice was the powerful mix of crime thriller and family drama. Playing a detective felt very close to my heart, especially as my own son is a police officer. I also really enjoyed working with Jakob — my fictional son this time — and I can’t wait for audiences to discover the tense series.”
