A fresh batch of stories
CIMA Impulsa has chosen 16 projects from 258 applications for its latest round. The list includes six fiction features, four fiction series, three documentaries, one documentary series and two animation projects. More than half are led by creators from underrepresented groups, and over 65% of the writers are CIMA members.
Ibero-American reach
Two projects come from Brazil and Argentina, while a third of the authors are of Latin American origin. Themes range from class and family ties to climate change, LGTBIQA+ rights and the blurred line between human and animal worlds. The selection committee, made up entirely of women professionals, judged entries on quality, innovation and development potential.
Training and industry access
Writers receive mentoring on screenwriting, pitching, budgets and financing before pitching to producers, platforms and broadcasters. Netflix has backed the scheme since its launch to help projects written by women reach the screen.
