Netflix has just shared the first look at its upcoming Taiwanese action-comedy The Fixers, set to land on the platform on 17 September.
The series follows debt-ridden gangster Felix Chiang (Christopher Lee) as he's pulled into a secret organisation based out of the ancient Ching He Temple. Partnered with the cocky Louis Hsueh (Shou Lou) and the formidable Mina Shen (Regina Lei), the trio handle covert jobs that sit somewhere between the law and the criminal underworld.
Director Hung Tzu-hsuan said: “After watching The Fixers, I hope viewers will find themselves looking for a secret entrance to Ching He Temple whenever they visit a temple and wondering whether lighting incense sticks might bring someone to help with their troubles.”
Producer Lim added that temples have long served as informal community hubs in Taiwan, making them the perfect backdrop for this morally grey world.
Christopher Lee, Shou Lou and Regina Lei have all shared their excitement about the project, with Lei noting she finally got to tackle the action scenes she'd always wanted.
