Screenings in Four Capitals
Netflix threw four invitation-only premieres for The Diplomat Season 4, teaming up with POLITICO to reach the people who actually do the job. The London event on 13 October at the Soho Hotel pulled in Creative Industries Minister Ian Murray MP and Minister of State Stephen Doughty MP. Similar evenings followed in Canberra, Brussels and Washington DC, where 200 guests watched at the US Navy Memorial.
What the Creators Said
Creator Debora Cahn explained the show’s origins: “There were not a huge number of shows out there about the foreign service, and we're, at heart, fangirls, and I wanted to do it justice.” Star Keri Russell added: “This is absolutely meant to be a love letter to the foreign service. That's what we talked about from the very beginning. Those are the kernels that we love so much about the show, and certainly the arc of this season in particular.”
Season 4 on Screen and on Netflix
Production spread across more than 15 locations in Italy, the UK and the US, including Lucca and Lancaster House. All four seasons are now streaming exclusively on Netflix. If you want the latest on what the streamer is adding next, head to our TV hub for regular updates.
