The Three-Year Deal
Netflix has secured exclusive live rights to La Velada del Año for the 2027, 2028 and 2029 editions. The event, created by Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos, will leave its previous home on Twitch and expand beyond its Spanish-speaking core.
Growth So Far
Viewership has climbed sharply since the first edition in 2021. The 2025 show peaked at 9.3 million concurrent viewers, with average audiences rising from around one million to more than six million by 2026. Recent editions have filled major Spanish stadiums and mixed amateur boxing with music and entertainment.
What Changes for Viewers
UK subscribers will be able to watch the full live spectacle without needing a separate Twitch or YouTube account. The move brings the format to Netflix's global platform, though the core audience remains Spanish and Latin American creators and fans. No extra cost applies beyond a standard Netflix subscription.
Ibai's Take
"In 2021, we put together the first La Velada in a concert venue in Barcelona, with no idea how far it could go. Five years later, millions of people have watched it at the same time, and bringing it to Netflix for the next three years gives us the opportunity to make it even bigger without losing what makes it special: the community that makes it all possible," said Ibai Llanos.
