Partnership Targets Rental Sector

British Gas has teamed up with build-to-rent specialist Broadford to fit energy-saving kit across new and existing rental developments. The deal covers energy supply, installation and long-term servicing for landlords while aiming to lower bills for tenants. So far 29 plots are finished and another 160 are under way.

Kit and Services on Offer

British Gas engineers will install air source heat pumps, solar PV panels via approved partners, Samsung white goods and compatible smart controls. The package also includes heating system cover, electrical checks, white goods protection plus plumbing and drains insurance. All work comes with ongoing compliance support.

What the Companies Say

“By delivering everything from installation to ongoing maintenance and protection, we’re helping Broadford future-proof their properties while giving tenants more comfortable, energy-efficient homes. It’s a clear example of how British Gas is supporting the transition to lower-carbon living in the rental market, without adding complexity for customers.”

James Hughes, Director of Strategic Housing Partnerships at British Gas

Broadford’s Peter Wyatt added that the tie-up supports their focus on tech-enabled, sustainable homes and cost-saving solutions for tenants.

Why It Matters for Renters

If you rent in a Broadford development you could see lower running costs and simpler maintenance. For everyone else, compare current energy deals to see what savings are available on the open market right now.
