The Premise
Netflix has shared the first teaser for its new Indonesian film Never Surrender, directed by Sidharta Tata. The story follows a grandfather in a Central Java village who suddenly finds himself caring for two grandchildren he has not seen in years. When trouble from Jakarta arrives in the form of a criminal syndicate, the family must choose between surrender and fighting back.
Cast and Creative Team
Lukman Sardi leads the cast alongside Callista Arum, Sulthan Hamonangan, Derby Romero and Donny Alamsyah. The film marks Tata’s first project with producers Kimo Stamboel and Edwin Nazir. It blends high-stakes fight scenes with a grounded look at three generations rebuilding trust after loss.
UK Viewing Details
The film arrives worldwide on Netflix on 12 November. UK subscribers can add it to their list now via the app or site. For more on what else the streamer has lined up this autumn, see our TV section.
How It Fits the Line-up
Never Surrender continues Netflix’s push into local-language action titles that travel internationally. With its mix of family drama and tactical combat, it should appeal to viewers who enjoyed recent non-English thrillers on the platform, though anyone expecting a pure martial-arts showcase may find the emotional threads take equal billing.
