Steady Investment in LA Productions
Netflix has filmed more than 300 productions primarily in Los Angeles since 2018. In 2025 alone the total reached over 45, and the same number is already locked in for 2026. The company worked with more than 2,900 Los Angeles County businesses last year, generating over $400 million for the local economy. This continued spending stands out while other studios scale back.
What It Means for UK Viewers
Los Angeles locations double as stand-ins for stories set elsewhere, so the output reaches UK screens as varied drama, comedy and thrillers. Titles such as Nemesis, The Hawk and The Rip have already used dozens of real sites across the city, from churches and schools to golf courses and hotels. Returning series including Nobody Wants This, The Lincoln Lawyer and Forever also keep filming there, turning familiar streets into recurring characters.
